I’m Deon Mayer — an airline pilot who should’ve been an artist. With 20+ years in the sky, I’ve seen what altitude can do to skin (my dark spots are proof). This calendar blends my love for aviation art with my mission to help pilots stay protected and inspired.

A little back story about me; my first job when I was 14 was doing many different jobs at a garment manufacturer in Spokane, WA. Cutting room to shipping. My mom was the office manager. I always loved witnessing a large operation run smoothly. Maybe that's why flying professionally appealed to me too.

Two years ago, I started learning surface pattern design. Making digital designs in Adobe Illustrator and then having them printed on things. Then driving home from a trip at 1am, I remembered I have garment manufacturing experience🤦🏼‍♀️ Soon after that I found an journal dated 2019 with the dream of owning a flatseamer industrial sewing machine. Long story short, I invested in myself and bought that machine and started my own design and manufacturing business. I never had the patience for someone to come along with all of the business resources to help me launch my business.

I'm doing business scrappy style. Make what you like, share it with others, receive feedback. Repeat.
